Volgarr the Viking II Announced at Guerrilla Collective 2024

Making its debut at the Guerrilla Collective 2024 earlier today, players will be able to don their sword and shield with the release of Volgarr the Viking II this year.

Featuring new and bigger-than-ever Norse-inspired worlds, Volgarr the Viking II improves upon the 2D side-scrolling action of the original with an expanded odyssey.

This means new power-ups and magic items, a roster of ruthless bosses, an orchestral soundtrack, and speedrunning tools.

Mike Mika, Head of Digital Eclipse, said the following:

“One of our key pillars is making new games the old-fashioned way. We love and celebrate games where every pixel is hand-crafted.

Volgarr was one of those games we couldn’t put down, no matter how hard it was. Games like this are a rare breed, and we’re happy to play a role in seeing Volgarr II realized.”

Kristofor Durrschmidt, CEO & Creative Director, Crazy Viking Studios, added:

“Volgarr is known for being easy to learn, hard to master. For some, that might even be an understatement. But that design philosophy guided every aspect of development for Volgarr II.

We learned a lot from launching the original, and even with some modern updates, fans are going to love the sequel. Volgarr is still a game where, if you want the ultimate experience, you’ll need to really master what it asks of you.”

Volgarr the Viking II is set to come to consoles and PC on August 6.
